Hampshire Architectural photography of a Timber Frame Extension
Hampshire Interior and Architectural photography - When V&L Architects were asked to add an extension to this farmhouse they took into account the wishes of the client which was to add a large bright new open space, but to maintain the feel of the original build. This beautiful timber frame extension magically adds so more space, but also keeps the feel of the existing rustic house.
This shoot combines interior photography and architectural photography. The owner did a great job of adding furnishings that complement the interior space, so it was important to show these too. I photographed this using a combination of natural light and fill light to showcase the interior at its best. For the exterior I photographed in the daylight and I also waited until dusk, to showcase the lighting outside and inside the building.
The clients V&L Architects were looking for good Hampshire interior and architectural photography and were delighted with the results, as it truely shows their work at its best and their superb attention to details.

Dorset Architectural Photography - black zinc cladding exterior
This modern chalet style house is an architectural dream house and is a great example of modern architectural photography. The black zinc cladding complements the oak clad interior and over hang. Indian sandstone paving runs the length of the back and side patio. The large patio at the back provides room for an outdoor seating area and BBQ.
Wonderful to photograph, architecturally this house sits beautifully into its surroundings, nestled into the woods behind. South facing it gets sun all through the day. The large overhang provides shade to the patio. And while there are four metre high glass panels, the overhang prevents the large living space from overheating. The large sliding glass doors slide all the way across the back, leaving a large opening for ventilation and fresh air to circulate in in the Summer.

Architectural project in Bournemouth - converted boathouse
I just love photographing the projects of architects Evans & Traves their work is just beautiful and inspiring. Here is a shoot I photographed for them in Mudeford, of an old boathouse that was converted into a very super cool pad, with stunning views over the water. A large open living area looks across the bay with uninterrupted views. A large decking area outside runs all around the outside of the space. The usage of the bi folding doors completely opens up the space to the outside. Fantastic space!!
Lifestyle Portrait Headshot Photography
I love photographing people, it is something that requires more than just technical skill, you have to be able to relate to people and make them feel at ease and comfortable as this is what will make a good portrait or not. It is no good if you can light your subject well, if they are not happy and feeling relaxed, this will show and the end result will look awkward.
Whenever someone approaches me for a corporate portrait photograph, we figure what look/ style they want and then I can work with them to give them the look they want. A lot of my work is out of the studio these days, with people going more and more for an environmental look which is less formal than the standard white backdrop.Using a lot of natural light the results are flattering to the subject and as they are removed from a sterile studio environmental, people find it easier to relax. Here is a selection of environmental/ lifestyle corporate headshot photography I did for a wide selection of clients, from a writer to a recruitment consultant.
Architecture Photography project
This architecture project was commissioned by architects Evans & Traves. Another great house, designed by them, they wanted to have the photographs to add to their portfolio. Situated in Poole, near to Sandbanks, this large house, planned over three floors is stunning. Bright and airy, light floods in from the top of the house to the ground floor and in through the big glass doors that make the fourth wall at the back of the house. A wooden staircase with glass balustrades runs creates a striking centrepiece within the house.
This was a joy to photograph, all bright spaces and wonderful architectural features. Using mostly natural light the spaces speak for themselves.
The top floor boasts a balcony and a view over Poole harbour. The big glass doors at the back open up completely to allow the outside into the living/kitchen areas.

Commercial Photoshoot - artistic product photo shoot
When the artisan gin creator Fordington Gin approached me to shoot its new photography campaign in Dorchester I was delighted. As well as being a fantastic product, the owner of the company Ros, is a creative and imaginative person, who wanted to create something new and exciting for the product.
With the brief being to create images that were fun, luxurious and magical – a little Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderlandesque, we had fun! Using props from a variety of sources, the end photographs are rich in colour and full of depth and contrast.
Shooting inside and outside, I captured the sunshine feel of the Elderflower and Orange Gin and the rich depth of the Blackberry and Apple. Sunshine and natural light played well with the bottles outside, while fabrics and props complemented the bottles inside.
